This growing, nationally renowned professional services organisation is looking to hire an in-house commercial lawyer to join the highly regarded team to support their growth strategyThe in-house lawyer role is varied and challenging with a mix of BAU commercial contract activities and more complex, project based initiatives. The team is well-oiled with plenty of support and time is spent on prioritisation with a slick process so you will never feel isolated or unable to manage your time.The role may well include the following areas, however can be shaped a little around the candidate's technical background and preferences.- Commercial agreements and contracts including procurement, sales, marketing, IT outsourcing- Corporate activity- Compliance / DP- Other ad-hoc legal projects We are ideally looking for a commercial lawyer who can slot in to the the existing team of 5 and work closely with the Senior Leadership team and also support and coach the slightly more junior team members. Ideally you will have in-house commercial contracts experience (possibly even via secondment) and enjoy the variety that brings, possibly in a regulated industry with 4/5+ years PQE. There is no upper level of experience so if you are a more experienced lawyer looking for something a little different, keen to talk.There is complete agile working, with hubs dotted around the UK although the majority of stakeholders will be Birmingham based, so as long as you can get to the office as and when for occasional meetings (possibly a day a week), then a wider location/home working is perfect.Work can also fit in with your lifestyle, with no core hours - so if ts the school run each day, trips to the gym, walking the dog, or other hobbies there is always time in your day for a balance.The team is highly proactive, led by a passionate General Counsel and excellent coach. Legal Counsel role with a major UK FMCG business A game-changing in-house role with this leading brand and genuine household name. You will be working as part of an established, hugely supportive, authentic, legal team headed up by an empathetic GC who genuinely nurtures and develops talent. The team have a great reputation internally across the leadership teams.There is a proactive, business partner model in place and you will join a team supporting two of their high profile and most varied divisions, giving you a real breadth to your work and allowing you to be seen as a value add, commercial advisor.The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years+ PQE gained either in practice or in-house and be a committed team player, interested in business, naturally inquisitive and keen to roll up their sleeves. Team fit is number 1, and as I have worked with them for 5 years I will be able to give you a real sense of what this means. Although a commercial contracts background would be the preference - particularly if you have experience in FMCG, retail, transportation or logistics, we are more open minded on technical background if you have the necessary drive and passion for working in-house. Happy to receive applications from commercial litigators or corporate lawyers with the right drivers, particularly if you have had exposure to previous in-house work. Location is really flexible, HQ is North West/North Mids border and you only really have to come together as a team once or twice a week max (and its a pleasant drive against the traffic). There is also a site near Warrington which is useful for those based in the Manchester area.Could easily work from Manchester, Cheshire, Crewe, Staffordshire, Birmingham, West Midlands or further a field if you only wanted to travel 1 day a week. Data Protection Manager role with an international, consumer-led plc where customer data and marketing is very much key to continued growth.
