Financial Controller

Head of Commercial Finance

We are assisting with the hire of a Head of Commercial Finance. This is a newly created position within the business, ahead of a period of ambitious growth within the business. It's a very flexible environment, with 2 days per week working from home. Salary on offer is up to £80K, plus 30% bonus and 12% pension. If you're a qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) commercial finance professional, with a B2C background and line management experience, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Key Accountabilities: Being the strategic financial lead in preparing the Group's annual budget and strategic business plan. Deliver insight and analysis which informs and enables the business to achieve strategic goals and deliver business KPIs. Creation of financial models to project longer term forecasts and growth models. Lead and develop weekly revenue reporting and commentary to the Board and Senior Management. Preparation of Management Accounts and Board Report analysis and provide timely commentary and variance analysis to understand the drivers of financial performance against budgets and forecasts. Comparing and evaluating previous budgets and forecasts and performing variance analysis to explain differences in performance and make improvements going forward. Produce and develop the monthly reporting packs. Business Partnering, build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders around the business Review current processes and challenge the operation efficiency of the team and suggest and implement improvements and solutions. Actively contribute to the development of the wider Finance team. Working closely with the Financial Controller to streamline and improve the current accounting systems and reporting processes Preparing competitor analysis, market trends and commentary. Understand the cashflow position across the business and use this information when advising on contractual negotiations. Recognising the opportunity for growth within the organisation and working with the senior stakeholders within the business to crystalise it. Required Experience: CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified. You'll have proven experience in delivering expert forecasts and financial analysis, which assist the decision-making process across the organisation. Key responsibilities for the Senior Financial Planning Analyst role: Drive development and delivery of the finance data pipelines and data quality from existing ERP systems globally to the central FP&A CoE information systems so that the workstreams have access to the right data and are able to efficiently support their finance business partners' requirements. Develop an effective and efficient data management strategy (underpinned by SAP HANA) to support and continuously improve FP&A activity and S/4 is deployed. Lead a team of Data analysts that design, innovate and standardise data pipelines (including tools and methods) to be able to efficiently provide access to the data that supports all FP&A capabilities and activity, working with other FP&A teams to clarify and confirm data requirements. Understand data quality issues affecting FP&A performance and promote the importance of data quality across Finance, working with other OUP functions as required. Part of FP&A Leadership team responsible for managing FP&A's performance, resources and outputs to finance business partners and other key stakeholders Coach team members in development opportunities required to develop as a Finance professional.
