🚛 Transport Operations Manager - General Haulage & Pallet Network

💰 Salary: £50,000 - £55,000

About the Role
Our client is a well-established general haulage operator providing nationwide transport and distribution services. As proud members of a leading pallet network, they are dedicated to delivering high-quality service, efficiency, and reliability.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to oversee their busy fleet operation and play a key role in managing day-to-day transport activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily running of a mixed fleet operation (artics, rigids, and vans).
Lead and motivate a team of drivers and transport office staff.
Plan and monitor routes to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation, including tachographs, driver hours, and vehicle maintenance.
Liaise effectively with customers, suppliers, and pallet network partners.
Monitor performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain Health & Safety, FORS, and compliance standards.
About You
We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Transport Manager who thrives in a fast-paced general haulage environment and has a solid background working within a pallet network operation.
Essential Experience & Skills:
Proven experience in a Transport Management or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of pallet network operations and general haulage.
Excellent understanding of transport compliance and operational legislation.
CPC qualification (National or International)
Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficient in using transport management systems (TMS).
