The Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking regional organisation seeking a Research Executive to support its investment, business insight and economic development activity. This role will focus on sourcing, analysing and synthesising primary and secondary research to create compelling, data-driven propositions that attract investment and promote the region's strengths. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will provide high-quality intelligence, lead-generation support, and data-driven storytelling to help shape strategic decision-making and regional growth.


Key Requirements

  • Provide data, intelligence and analysis to support inward investment activity and core business objectives.

  • Develop and maintain sector- and market-specific research, reports and materials.

  • Produce clear, engaging slide decks and collateral that communicate the region's strengths.

  • Deliver timely, accurate data and insight for value propositions and marketing content.

  • Respond to investor enquiries, supplying relevant intelligence quickly and effectively.

  • Identify research solutions for complex or specialised information requests.

  • Support lead generation activity across priority sectors and markets.

  • Use secondary data sets and research tools to develop evidence-based propositions.

  • Maintain and update core data products, tool kits and internal information resources.

  • Utilise AI and automation tools to streamline data processes while ensuring accuracy.


Candidate Criteria

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and present it clearly.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and presentation skills.

  • Confident using data sources, research platforms and digital tools for insight generation.

  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder awareness.

  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to drive projects forward independently.

  • Flexible, adaptable and comfortable working in a fluid, multi-stakeholder environment.

  • Experience in research, insight or a related discipline (quantitative or qualitative).

  • Proficiency in Excel for analysis and PowerPoint for data storytelling.

  • Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject.
