A Graphic Designer will work closely with other members within the marketing team (which may include copywriters, account handlers, and PR and advertising) to brainstorm, conceptualise and present creative ideas. A Graphic Designer will be responsible for the design, production and management of artwork, assets, and marketing communications; using their craft and skill set to bring brainstormed ideas to reality. They will assist in the creation of proposals and support marketing activities such as website content management, brochures, email marketing, corporate reports, magazines, video and animation and much more.
They will have a strong background in design with confident IT and drawing skills. The ideal candidate will have either a foundation degree, HND or degree in graphic design (or another art and design-based subject). Candidates will be expected to provide an up to date CV and a portfolio that (demonstrates both online and offline projects and) illustrates their knowledge and experience across a wide range of design elements. In order to stay competitive, it’s important for a Graphic Designer to keep up to date with the latest software and computer technologies, in addition to the latest industry-related trends. They will work with both text and images, combining design, craft and technical skills to produce attractive and effective concepts for clients.
Pragmatism is an ideal quality for a Graphics Designer to have - the ability to think on their feet and find practical solutions to problems is invaluable. They will be expected to assist with a number of design requirements, which may include (but are not limited to): leaflets, brochures, press ads, packaging, POS, web design, rebrands, corporate identity, direct mail, design for social, social assets, etc. They will need confident communication skills in order to interpret briefs and create, present and produce creative concepts, projects and campaigns.
